Q. What are the required documents to apply for the Korean language program?
1. Completed application form
2. A copy of passport (the page with your picture and signature)
3. A original letter of enrollment or an original transcript or a copy of your diploma from your most recent school
4. Two identical photographs (3x4cm)
5. An original copy of bank statement showing a minimum balance of $3,000 (if the bank
statement is your parent¡¯s then you must submit a document that states the relationship
between your parent and you) or a sponsorship letter (the sponsor has to a Korean who is
living in Korea, has a job and is over 20 years old; the sponsorship letter must be officially
endorsed and you must submit a letter of employment or a copy of business permit
certificate of the sponsor with the sponsorship letter)
*The required documents differ a little by nationality, so please give us an email to make sure you send us all the required documents

Q. What are the admission requirements?
A high school diploma or its equivalent is the minimum requirement.

Q. What is the admission process?
Submit the required documents with the tuition and application fee ? Receive letter of admission form KLCC ? Prepare the visa application package ? Submit the visa application package to the Korean Consulate General ? Receive the visa from the Korean Consulate General
* It generally takes about one month to process a visa application, but the duration may differ from country to country.

Q. Can I send my application form and required documents by fax?
You can send us the documents by fax but you need to send us the original letter of enrollment (or transcript) and bank statement (or the sponsorship letter) by air mail, because these documents are needed in its original copy. We also need your picture for your application form and student record.

Q. When can I receive my admission letter?
When we have received all the required documents, tuition and application fee we will notify you that the application process is complete by email. After notifying you, we will send you the admission letter by regular post. If you want to receive the admission letter by EMS, you have to pay us 15,000won as EMS fee in advance, then we can send you the admission letter by EMS. However, you must pay the EMS fee to a different bank account.

Q. Can I pay the tuition and application fee when I come to Korea?
Unfortunately, that is not possible. You need to send us the required documents and make the payment before the deadline. You can pay us the tuition and application fee through international money transfer, having someone in Korea pay in person at our office or by postal order. If you need the SWIFT code of Hana Bank please ask us.

Q. Is there a tuition discount?
- 10% tuition discount for immediate family members who register for the same semester
- 10% tuition discount for children of Korea University employees and alumni
- 20% tuition discount for foreign diplomats, government officials, and their family members dispatched to Korea by their country¡¯s government
- 20% tuition discount for students currently attending Korea University
- 50% tuition discount for foreign teachers who are teaching at Korea University

Q. Can I get a refund if I cannot take the course?
You can receive a refund for your tuition. The application fee is non-refundable.
If you submit the Withdrawal Application and a copy of the bank account book before the first day of class, you can receive 85% of the tuition back. If you decide to withdraw within one week of the first class, you can receive 50% of the tuition back. After one week, no refunds will be granted.
If you are unable to take the course because you were denied a visa from the Korean Consulate General in your country, you can get a full refund of your tuition (not the application fee) if you submit the following documents: Withdrawal Application, original letter of admission issued from KLCC, receipt for tuition paid to KLCC, letter from the Korean Consulate General denying visa. You must submit these documents before the first day of class.

Q. Is there a scholarship I can receive at KLCC?
There is no scholarship for new comers. There is one scholarship that we grant our students every semester. Students who excel in their classes are nominated by their teacher and 3% from the total students in that semester are chosen to receive the scholarship. The students who are chosen to receive the scholarship have good grades and attendance rate, actively participate in school events and club activities, and have good attitude in class. The amount given as a scholarship is 500,000won. To find more information about scholarships for foreigners or overseas Koreans, we recommend checking the website of Korea Foundation or KOICA.

Q. Can I stay in the dormitory?
Only the students who take the Summer Intensive Course, Summer School for Teenagers and Special Program for Japanese Students Summer I can stay in the dormitory. Students taking other programs have to stay in a boarding house, one room, or gosiwon. You can find information about housing on our website under the name ¡°Information about Lodging¡±.

Q. Can I apply for certificate of completion online?
You can download the certificate application form and send us the completed form by email to korean@korea.ac.kr. After sending the application form you can pay the postal fee (you must pay the money under your name). It will cost you 2,000won for domestic postal delivery and 15,000won for international postal delivery (domestic postal delivery will be sent as registered mail and international postal delivery will be sent as EMS)

Q. Are there any student convenience facilities inside the campus?
There are Star Bucks, Dunkin Donuts and other restaurants in Tiger Plaza which is right beside the International Studies Hall, where the classes will be held. In the Central Square which is right in front of the main gate, there are Popeyes, Hans Bibimbap, public health center, stationery store, bookstore etc. The post office is right in front of International Studies Hall and Hana Bank is located in Woo Dang Hall Annex.

Q. Can I use the library?
If you want to use the library, you have to bring the student ID card which will be issued one week after the class starts to the 2nd floor of Central Library and get a barcode. Students who registered for the regular program (10 week course) can enter and borrow books. Students of other programs can only enter the library.

Q. Can I use the internet in campus?

You can use the computers in the 2nd floor lobby of International Studies Hall to do internet and it supports Mandarin and Japanese.
