¡á Program Outline
1. Eligibility Requirements
The applicant must be at least a high school student or the equivalent.

2. Curriculum
(1) KLCC offers four quarters of regular programs every year.
(2) The program consists of 6 levels to cater to all levels of Korean language ability. Students who have completed the sixth level can register for the advanced research class
(3) Each quarter is 10 weeks(200 hours) long and classes are held five times a week (Monday to Friday) and for four hours a day (between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.).
(4) Advanced research classes are available when there are at least 5 students. Advanced class is held three days a week and four hours a day(120 hours).
(5) Each day, two hours are devoted to Korean grammar, reading, and writing and another two hours, to conversation, listening and speaking.

(6) Each class will have an average of 10 to 12 students, but no more than 15.

3. Level Descriptions(Goals and Contents)
* Beginner(Level 1, 2)

* Students will be abe to perform basic communication needed in everyday life .
* Students will read and write basic Korean sentences correctly.
< Education Contents >
* Basic sentence structure, vocabulary, particles(Á¶»ç), endings inflection, tense, etc.
* Familiar subjects and situations of individual, informal categories, such as family, routine, hobby, etc.
* Functions needed in everyday life, such as introductions, shopping, telephoning, etc.
* Intermediate(Level 3, 4)

* Students will express individual, specific contents correctly and fluently by paragraph.
* Students will be able to deal with specific social concerns by paragraph.
* Students will be able to manage the business work partially.
* Students will widen the understanding of Korean society and culture.
< Education Contents >
* Passive and causative verbs, speech, various supplements, endings inflection, etc.
* Introduce Korean society and culture, such as myth, legend, holiday, custom, etc.
* Explaining, describing, comparing, and so on by paragraph.
* Concept, abstract, habitual words and proverbs
* Advanced(Level 5, 6)

* Students will be able to deal with abstract and current issues.
* Students will be able to manage the business work generally.
* Students will be able to recognize and generate various speech patterns such as editorial, news, essay, novel, etc.

* Abstract social subjects such as politics, economics, society, culture, etc.
*Texts of various subjects and speech patterns that can widen the understanding of Korea.
* Exercising various speech patterns.
* Research Class
< Education Goals>
* Students will be able to speak Korean language correctly and fluently, equivalent to Native Speaker.
* Students will be able to use advanced Korean language needed to read and understand books of specialization and write thesis and article, etc.
* Students will be able to understand Korean society, culture and history.

* Various subjects such as politics, economics, society, culture, literature, etc.

4. Co-curricular Activities
Every quarter affords opportunities to participate in a variety of activities. Speech contests, essay writing competitions on Hangul(the Korean alphabet) Days, plays, and trying one's hand at Korean folk games are just a few examples. Also, students attend performances of traditional Korean arts and visit Ichon Potters' Village, the Korean Folk Village, old palaces, the Kwachon Museum of Modern Arts, and Everland, Lotte World amusement parks and Seorak Mt.


¡á Costs of Education
(1) Application Fee: 60,000 Won (non-refundable)
(2) Tuition: * Levels 1-6: 1,470,000 Won/quarter
* Advanced Research Level: 1,210,000 Won/quarter
* afternoon classes : 1,250,000 Won/quarter
¡á Orientation and Placement Test
(1) Students who have registered and obtained a visa should participate in the orientation and take the placement test.
(2) The orientation is held at 10:00 a.m. on the Thursday preceding the first week of class.
(3) The placement test consists of a written and an oral parts and according to the results, students are assigned to appropriate levels.
